As a founder member and 2nd President (2005-2006) of the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa, Paul was awarded the PSASA Founders Award for outstanding service to the local professional speaking industry at the Global Speakers Summit in Cape Town in April 2009. Paul du Toit is only the 2nd resident South African to be awarded the CSP designation and the first in 24 years. He received his CSP on 3 August 2008 in New York.

The CSP designation is currently held by 663 professional speakers globally** - under 10%. Only two national speakers associations under the umbrella of the Global Speakers Federation (GSF) are licensed to award the CSP designation - the United States and Australia.

The Certified Speaking Professional designation is the most sought-after and visible measure of professionalism in the speaking business internationally. It demonstrates professional standards in four key areas:
